Garden of Stones

Standing barefoot at the gate of a cemetery, this red headed witch is beckoning you in with a subtle curving of her right index finger, sassy little smile and innocent green eyes.   She holds an oracle glass in her left hand and is ready to tell you about your future if you dare.

This vignette stands about 10” tall on a 8” wooden base.  The witch figure, snakes, skull and grave stone have been sculpted from prosculpt clay and hand painted.  A metal archway is covered in natural elements as well as the pathway that she stands on.

Halloweenie Frank

I started creating "Halloweenies" in 2015 for a Halloween Show I was exhibiting at. They turned out to be a big selling item and I’m happy to say will be in the Fall 2016 edition of Art Doll Quarterly.

“Halloweenies” are little miniature semi- posable dolls that are little kiddos with masks on, each are 6" tall seated and about 10" tall with legs outstretched.  They are the little ones who come to your door with their little trick or treat buckets expecting goodies.  The side view picture of the shows the “mask” attached to a little kids face.

Hand sculpted with paperclay and proscuplt, then carefully painted and dressed.  A hang tag with the following description is attached to each “Halloweenie”.

We are the wee ones
that got all dressed up and yelled
“Trick or Treat”
on your door steps

Zahara - Zen Art Doll

From the mind of the Irish Witch

$150.00  contact Susiewhc@gmail.com

Zahara is an art doll that stands about 10" tall.  She is standing on a sconce that hangs easily hangs on a wall with a light weight nail.  The whole piece is about 14" tall by 12" wide.

This one of a kind doll was created and designed by me using vintage fabrics and thrift store finds.

I sculpted Zahara out of paperclay and attached her to a candle holder/sconce I found at a thrift shop. This little red head is draped in beautiful gold toned clothing made from vintage fabrics. She meditates silently with her hands to heart center; her mala resting around her beaded wrists.
She peacefully holds a tree pose in the middle of a lovely lotus. The lotus was created by sculpting each petal out of wire and filling with pink shear fabric, and finally embellishing with natural elements of moss and fern.

Thank you so much for stopping by my shop.

Wonderland inspired sculpture

Wonderland

It all started with a candle stick much like the one pictured above.  When I saw it at Goodwill, I saw the Cheshire Cat smiling back at me.  This project took many many hours to complete as I found myself wanting to keep adding to it.  I wanted a little symbol of each of my favorite characters from Alice in Wonderland to be present.  I love how it turned out!  Let me know what you think?

It's Magical

From the mind of the Irish Witch...........

Just a sneak peek of some fun stuff I've been playing around with.  They are not totally complete, but how cool is it to have your own Magic Wand?  Working to have these and many other ideas available at Spirits in Sanford show in October.
I would love to know what you think :)

Welcome to the Weekend

From the mind of the Irish Witch...........
Pumpkin Henge

Early to rise on a Saturday Morning, 3:30am to be exact.  That's okay, I want to get stuff done today.  I'll start with the domestic stuff around the house and then start filling those floor cloth orders from ETSY and jumping into Fall creations.

Of course my Saturdays are also my "catch up on with social media" Day.
Lucky for me I log into Facebook when my friend Carly Smith of Boggy Bottom Bayou is on and we get to chat for a bit.  She has been a very busy girl with her art submissions and I expect she will have some exciting news around The Witches of Giggleswick really soon.  Carly has also encouraged me to do my very first submission to Stampinton's Prim Magazine.  I'm so anxious to hear back from them.  Carly has also introduced me to the "Spirits in Sandford".  I went to the show last year and loved everything about it, so much that I will be applying this year.

Here's to a wonderfully creative weekend!

Submission deadline looming.............

From the mind of the Irish Witch...........

As I plan and paint in my little studio space I wonder why I procrastinate.  Then I remember that's how I roll.

Signing out to paint and watch it dry, have a wonderful Monday everyone.

Surprise!!! It's cool outside

Wasn't expecting a nice cool morning, because lately we are in the upper 80's and just figured Summer had arrived.
Cool weather inspires me to work on Fall.
Here is a gourd bowl I did a few years back, I love working with a wood burner so I upgraded mine this year.  I look forward to burning some more really soon.

Time for some Fall dreaming

From the mind of the Irish Witch...........

This is by far my favorite table runner.  I'm ready to start painting with Fall colors.  It's already hot like summer here in Florida so it's a good time to pretend that the season will change soon.

I plan on submitting this piece for possible publishing, wish me luck.

Post art show blues

Post art show and my studio area is a mess and so is my house.  Going to take a break from painting to get things back in order.  I'll be back on track by Thursday.
